Mexico 2012 RV Trip - Day 53 - Feb. 17, 2012 Playa Ventura - Puerto Marques

We took a short walk on the beach this morning before heading out and got to see the young worker from next door releasing 30 turtles into the ocean. He had hatched the eggs and the babies were six days old. He told us that if one of them survive, it is lucky.

We headed on toward Puerto Marques, just outside of Acapulco . We have been here twice before and have good memories of this area. The first time we were here, 16 years ago, we were here at Thanksgiving time with Tobey’s parents and our son, Tyler. We met Agustin, a local man who spoke English. He helped us arrange a fishing trip and other water activities. When we came back six years later, he and Tobey recognized each other right away. We had hoped to see him this trip, and we did. He and his family have two restaurants on the beach, as well as fishing boats. We spent time this afternoon visiting with him and enjoying the beach.
This evening after dinner at Pepe’s, one of Agi’s restaurants, we went to a wedding receptions with him and his wife. We are camped just across the street from Pepe’s and will go fishing in the morning.
