The roosters and dogs woke us early this morning. Tobey, the ever-observant fellow that he is , figured they probably had eggs they would sell to us, so he went to talk to our hosts. He came back with 2 farm fresh eggs for $5 pesos (about 40cents US). We mixed up some blueberry muffins and had a yummy breakfast. We had to cool our heels while we waited for the scooter to be finished, so we headed into town because they have free WIFI at the town square. We were able to post yesterday’s blog and do a quick email check.
After lunch we went back to the scooter repair shop. $350 pesos later (about $27 USD), we found out that our electrical system had gotten wet from the rain. They recharged our battery, allowed the wiring to dry out, and we were on our way. He recommended we get a cover for the scooter. We have a cover at home, but it tends to fly off the scooter or tear when it is on the back of the RV.
We arrived at Calderitas about 3pm and are staying with Kathe, a woman we met through RV friends, Croft & Norma and Whit & Jan. Kathe has a beautiful property right on Chetumal Bay.
We took the scooter back into Chetumal to locate the Cultural Museum and pick up a few groceries. We had dinner with Kathe, played some games, and enjoyed getting to know her better.

Glad to see you made it there! Hi to Kathe, we will see her in a couple of weeks. We can't keep up your youthful pace ; )
Always good to hear your stories. I went to Croft's blog and got a little more information about people RVing in Mexico. You will have to explain "caravan" to me. Is this just a group of friends traveling together or is it more structured. It sounded like the latter. You had a good gathering for the football playoffs in his outfit. Wonder where you will be for the Super Bowl. I'm sending an email with photos. I can't determine how to enter photo on Comment.
