We walked around town and went into one shop where there were two guys weaving cloth. It was fun to watch, but we it wasn’t the colorful fabrics to which we are drawn.
Once the scooter was up and running, we were on the road to San Agustin. The road was winding and it was washboard gravel. The 13 km red line below was DEFINITELY not as straight as it appears. It took about an hour to reach the beach there, but, it was worth the drive!
The water was an incredible blue, and the beach was long. We had lunch at Restaurant Bar “Viry”. We shared shrimp in garlic with vegetables and fried tortillas. It was more than we have usually paid ($145 pesos with 2 soft drinks and tip – $11.60USD), but it was very good. After lunch we went swimming and walked on the beach.
On the way back to our camp we stopped at the Santa Cruz Huatulco beach to see where the cruise ships come in. It was a nice beach with lots of restaurants and we heard that it is nice for snorkeling.
