Today was an easy day, but filled with errands!
We took our laundry to the lavanderÃa (laundromat). They weigh your clothes, wash them, dry them, and fold them for you and they will be ready tomorrow afternoon. We had 4.9kg of dirty clothes (about 11 pounds) and it was only $83 pesos. ($4.50USD) Not bad!
After that we stopped at the bus station to see the schedule for our return trip to Cancun airport on the 29th. Unfortunately, we have to take a bus at 7:10 in the morning because our flight is around noon. I am not a morning person, so I am not looking forward to that wake-up call!
We stopped at a new to us food stand for lunch. We split a beef burrito and had two cokes for $100 pesos. ($5.40USD) It was okay, but definitely not a place we need to go back. I asked three times if they had Coke Zero, not regular Coke, but we got two regular Cokes. It was okay for Tobey, but it was too sweet for me – ugh.
We got to Facetime with our granddaughter after lunch before heading to the grocery store. It was the highlight of my day!! We miss you, Charlotte – and your Mommy and Daddy, too! It was fun to turn the phone so she could see the streets of Tulum.
We rode on to the grocery store, then stopped at the fruit/vegetable market on our way back.Across the street from the fruit stand is an ice cream store. It was fun to see The Flintstones visiting the Tulum ruins! And Elsa, from the movie “Frozen”! We didn’t get ice cream today, but will another day.We spent the rest of the day reading and hanging out. Good guy that he is, Tobey rode back to the grocery store because I forgot to get butter. We had dinner in tonight and will probably watch a movie.
