March 6, 2015 - La Gringa, Bahia de Los Angeles

We were up early today and took a long walk after breakfast – about six miles round trip!

During the strong winds yesterday, this sailboat came in the bay and anchored here. They were still here today and we saw them in their dingy coming to shore.
We followed the shore south from our RV and walked until a small village area where several Americans had homes. There were small groups of birds along the shore which is always fun to see.

John told us that there is a dirt road that parallels the beach and they take that instead of the main road, so we walked it back to the RV. We plan to take it out tomorrow. While it will still be rough, there won’t be the huge vados that we drug through on the way in. This is what the entrance to the RV parking area at La Gringa looks like when it’s not raining!

When we came back, Tobey stopped to visit with John and Vally and invite them for dinner. He went back after lunch to help John with his boat motor which had died on them this morning when they went out fishing. They ended up taking it into town to a mechanic and also did some shopping.

We made tortilla soup and took it to their place for dinner, then played cards. We had a great time and look forward to seeing them again back in the States!

Tomorrow we are heading a little further north but are not sure of our destination. We’ll keep you posted!
