March 5, 2015 - La Gringa, Bahia de Los Angeles

The wind continued all night and our little house on wheels rocked and rolled and it is still blustery today.

I am feeling better today, thank goodness, but I stayed in while Tobey joined Vally and John to go clamming this morning.

They told me they had great success – Tobey had about 30 clams (of which Vally had found 15) and Vally had about 40, but they came back with nothing. They met Daniel and Sylvia who told them that it wasn’t a safe time for clamming because of the red tide, so they dumped them back. Vally said they have seen no evidence of red tide – usually you see red in the water. She kept 6 of the larger clams and is going to try them tomorrow. John said he would have her life insurance policy ready if necessary!

After Tobey returned, we spent most of the day inside because it was so windy, playing cards, reading, and watching for the dolphins to return. They didn’t.

Around 4:30 John picked us up and we went to their trailer for dinner. Vally made a wonderful sea bass in a cheesy-cream sauce and roasted potatoes. It was delicious! We had a great evening visiting and playing cards before John drove us home.

Tonight is the full moon and it was beautiful reflecting on the water. We hope the wind stops so we can take a long walk tomorrow!
