We rode though a fairly new “gringo” housing development calla Aldea Zama. We spotted these beautiful blue and black birds are Yucatan Jays. They are quite noisy!

The black and white bird was about double their size, but I don’t know what it is!
We continued on the La Zebra – just over 6 miles from our apartment.
Last year there was a fire at La Zebra and the large kitchen and dining area toward the right in the picture was destroyed, as well as the cabanas to the left of it. It was totally rebuilt as well as new hotel rooms and very nicely done.

We each had two tacos de barbacoa and a soft drink and it was $120 pesos. ($5.85 USD) We originally ordered one taco each, then had a second, and debated having a third! The meat was a delicious barbequed shredded pork with cheese in the tortilla.
We had planned to get ribs for dinner while we watched the Super Bowl, but they were sold out by the time we got there. Plan B – we stopped at a different stand to pick up pollo asada (grilled chicken) and tortillas.
We are enjoying game so far with Atlanta leading New England 21-3 at the half. Go Falcons!
