Today was made to chill. We walked the beach this morning and enjoyed just hanging out. After we got too hot (by 10:00 am!) we moved back to our pool area. Tobey, Ann, and Gary sat outside and I came in to wash a load of laundry – and enjoy the A/C!
We had lunch on our patio and watched macaws flying by. Tobey said it reminded him of the Blue Angels flying in formation.
We walked into town this afternoon to check things out and find the post office so I could mail a card to our granddaughter. Roundtrip was about 5 miles in 90+ degree weather. Toasty!
Back here we cooled down and rested before deciding on a restaurant for dinner. Ann and I sat on the deck looking out over the pool and watched the sunset. Pretty nice view!!Dinner was disappointing for Tobey and me.
He had his taste buds set for garlic shrimp but they were out of the jumbo shrimp. Second choice, we shared shrimp quesadillas which are made with smaller shrimps. They came out burned and the cheese wasn’t very tasty – actually I think it was mostly a scorched taste. Ann and Gary had a shrimp pasta dish that was good, so score one for them! We walked a little and got some ice cream so that was the highlight of our dinner!
“Pura Vida” (pronounced poo-rah vee-duh) represents Costa Ricans' relaxed attitude towards life, no matter the circumstance. It's used to say hello, goodbye, to say everything is okay, and to brush off any negativity. It's a way of life and an attitude, and using it can help you fit in with the locals.
Tomorrow is opportunity to try another restaurant! We are still smiling, so life is good.
