February 16, 2016 - Tulum, Mexico

It started to rain last night … and it rained, and rained, and was still pouring when we got up this morning. We knew the weather was supposed to be bad, so we planned this for a “down” day. After breakfast I read, then took a nap – until lunch! Tobey read and worked on emails. That’s pretty “down.”

It’s hard to tell, but that is rain coming down the spout from the balcony upstairs. We joked about it raining so much that the pool might overflow! That is the view from our porch.
After lunch we read some more! It stopped raining late afternoon, which worked out well for us. We needed to go pick up our laundry after 4pm, and we made it there and back without any rain. YEAH!

This is Maya, Chris and Barbara’s dog. She loves to come to the door at dinner-time and beg. She loves carrots! We have enjoyed having her around – it gives us a little “puppy-fix” when we are missing our Penny. She is really full of energy and loves racing around the garden area.


It has mostly stopped raining this evening, but is supposed to start again later and rain again tomorrow. Right now we can hear the marching band practicing tonight. On Friday there is supposed to be a parade for “Carnival”, and the weather is supposed to be good, so we are looking forward to seeing what we have been hearing!
