Mexico 2012 RV Trip - un viaje mas grande - Day 20, Jan. 16 Cuidad del Carmen – Campeche

I finally feel like we are really in Mexico. The sun came out and we are on the ocean. We only drove 120 miles today – a little over 3 hours. The roads in the state of Campeche are MUCH better than Veracruz! In the last two days we have crossed a couple of REALLY LONG bridges with REALLY BIG tolls! I guess it helps keep their roads better.

Day 20 Mexico Map

We are camped at Club Nautico, about 7km outside of Campeche (#33 on the map).We are paying much more for this campground – $350 pesos/night (about $26USD), but we are able to use their electricity – voltage is good! They have a sauna and showers with hot water. YEAH!

We met another couple, Croft & Norma, from Canada. Tobey & I follow their blog http://croftsmexico.blogspot.com/ and are happy to be able to meet them during our travels. We spent a couple hours hanging out by the pool and enjoying the sunshine. It was fun to visit with them and share an adult beverage this afternoon.
This evening Tobey & I took the scooter into Campeche for dinner. The food was okay, at best. Hopefully, we will find some better seafood tomorrow when we head back to town to explore the city.
