We had a leisurely start to the morning with a short walk on the beach before breakfast. The sand is pretty coarse, and where it gets softer, there is quite a slope, so not the most conducive for pleasant walking. It is also unfortunate that this section of the beach is not swimmable because of the strong undertow. The view back to the resort is pretty, however! After breakfast we took the bus over to Cabo San Lucas which is at the other end of the “corridor”, about 20 km from our resort. It is just under $4 per person round trip and takes about 30 minutes. A taxi is about $40USD one way!
We chatted with a couple guys on the bus – one man had lived in Vancouver for a while and the young fellow we met had lived in Chicago. Both spoke excellent English. Miguel recommended a spot for lunch, so after we walked around town for a while, we headed to the Taqueria El Zapate. We split an order of carne asada tacos and tacos al pastor. They were yummy! Nine tacos, two soft drinks and tip were $210 pesos ($11USD). Happy tummies made us smile!Back at our resort I spent time by the pool while Tobey relaxed in the air conditioning!
For dinner tonight we asked the concierge for advise on a seafood restaurant nearby and they recommended La Marea and it was about a five minute walk. We ended up splitting an order of shrimp fajitas. They were amazing and there is no way we could have eaten a full order each. As it was, we were stuffed! Prices were somewhat less than we would pay at home – $20.50 for fajitas (one order), two soft drinks and tip.
We are back at the condo and plan to watch a movie and kick back.
