There's an old saying, "the third time's the charm." It means the third attempt to do something will succeed, because the number three is considered lucky. Well, today, we FINALLY succeeded in starting my bucket list trip. We are on our way to Churchill, Canada to see polar bears!
In 2020, the trip was cancelled because of COVID. In 2021, our trip was cancelled because I fell four days before the trip and broke my ankle and wrist and needed surgery. In 2022, we joked that Tobey was going to keep me in bubble wrap until we got here!
From the time we booked our flights, we had several schedule changes and we were beginning to wonder if Air Canada would ever get us here! Our flights took us from Denver departing at 11:20 this morning to Toronto then back to Winnipeg, finally arriving about 9pm! It was a long travel day. Natural Habitat Adventures met us at the airport and transferred us to the beautiful Fort Garry Hotel where we will spend two nights.
The weather in Winnipeg is quite mild tonight, so we went out to get a photo in front of the hotel. Tomorrow we plan to do a walking tour and check out the city. Our group dinner and meeting is at 7 pm and the offical trip begins!
So for now, Good Night!
